Job summary

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity. We are seeking a Cyber Security Manager to develop, implement and continuously improve our cyber security capabilities. This is a hybrid role with a mix of home working and monthly head office attendance in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

The position is a fixed term contract for 24 months. You will lead the cyber security strategy, governance, risk management and incident response, while developing awareness programmes and guiding

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team and building a positive culture.
• Strong communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance principles including GDPR.
• Experience shaping cyber security strategies, roadmaps and improvement programmes.
• Understanding of Cyber Essentials, NIST and NCSC guidance.
• Experience managing cyber security operations, incidents, risk assessments and reporting.
• Experience developing and maintaining security policies, procedures, standards and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and development of the Cyber Security Strategy and roadmap.
• Advise senior leaders on cyber security matters and provide guidance to teams.
• Maintain cyber security risk register and governance reporting to leadership.
• Line manage and develop the cyber security team.
• Design organisation-wide cyber security awareness and education programmes.
• Monitor threats and industry developments and recommend actions.
• Hybrid role with monthly head office attendance in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Cyber Security Manager to develop, implement and continuously improve the Woodland Trusts cyber security capabilities.

The Role:

• Lead the delivery and development of the Cyber Security Strategy, roadmap and maintain cyber security policies, standards and procedures.
• Act as the Trust’s lead cyber security adviser, providing guidance to senior leaders, project and operational teams.
• Maintain the cyber security risk register and lead on cyber security governance activities to provide reporting, metrics and risk updates to leadership.
• Line manage and lead a team, providing support and guidance as needed.
• Designs and develop an organisation-wide cyber security awareness and education programme.
• Monitor cyber threats, vulnerabilities and industry developments making recommendations as appropriate.
• This is a hybrid position with a mix of home working and from our head office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Head office attendance would be required once a month on average.
• This is a fixed term contract for 24 months.

The Candidate:

• Experience leading a successful team creating a positive working environment and culture.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Compliance principles, GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
• Experience developing cyber security strategies, road maps, improvement programmes.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as Cyber Essentials, NIST and NCSC guidance.
• Experience managing cyber security operations, incident responses, risk assessments and providing improvements and reports as required.
• Experience developing and maintaining security policies, procedures, standards and controls.
