Job summary

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Data Protection Coordinator to support compliance programmes and obligations under the UK GDPR. The role involves coordinating data privacy audits, delivering the Data Protection Action Plan, and managing queries through a shared inbox.

You will help draft policies, raise awareness of GDPR principles, support individual rights requests and respond to breaches, and report on KPIs to the Executive Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Experience with data protection and broader compliance.
• Strong prioritisation and time management.
• Knowledge of individual rights requirements.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality and credibility.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, DUAA and DPA.
• Experience producing quality reporting.
• Strong collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Data Protection Coordinator to support the Woodland Trusts compliance programmes and obligations under the UK GDPR compliance.

The Role:

• Assist with the coordination of data privacy audits to promote organisational adherence to data privacy controls.
• Support in the deliver of the Data Protection Action Plan.
• Manage the shared inbox for data privacy and respond to queries internally and externally.
• Maintain and monitor business systems for compliance.
• Support drafting and updating relevant policies and procedure for approval and raise employee awareness of UK GDPR principles and changes as needed.
• Support individual rights requests and respond to any breaches in a timely manner.
• Support the creation and delivery of the Data Protection KPI’s reporting, highlighting to the Executive Leadership Team data privacy governance.
• This is a hybrid position with a mix of home working, and from our head office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Head office attendance would be required no more than once a month on average.

The Candidate:

• Experience of data protection with additional experience of broader business compliance.
• Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to plan and organise your time effectively.
• Knowledge of individual rights requirements and expectations.
• Experience establishing and maintaining a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust and credibility at all levels.
• Knowledge of Data Privacy legislation including but not limited to Uk GDPR, PECR, DUAA and DPA.
• Experience supporting with and producing quality reporting.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
