Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cyber Security Incident Responder (IR) to join our dynamic team. The role involves maintaining the security and resilience of Element’s digital infrastructure by managing cyber incidents. This is a key opportunity to be a founding member of Cyber Defence, working closely with stakeholders to develop a 24/7 operational cyber defence capability. Experience in Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) is encouraged.

This position requires on-call availability and overtime during serious cyber attacks. Location in the UK is flexible.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and implement Element’s IR capability following industry best practices
  • Lead and coordinate cyber incidents, conduct investigations, determine root causes, and recommend remediation
  • Collaborate with IT, Privacy, Legal teams, and stakeholders; report incident statuses
  • Conduct post-incident reviews for continuous improvement
  • Perform digital forensics and malware analysis
  • Contribute to the development of cyber defence metrics and KPIs
  • Stay updated on cyber threats and security technologies
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders such as law enforcement and cybersecurity vendors
Key Skills:
  • Minimum five years’ experience in cybersecurity
  • 3-5 years in Digital Forensics and managing complex cyber incidents
  • Experience in large, complex, federated organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or certifications like CISSP, CISM, GIAC
  • Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and effective communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and understanding of security as a business enabler
  • Knowledge of SIEM tools and query development
Experience Needed:
  • Managing serious cyber incidents as a digital forensic incident responder
  • Working within large, complex enterprise environments
  • Understanding of security monitoring, intrusion detection, and prevention systems
  • Technical expertise in networks, malware analysis, and digital forensics
  • Effective communication with senior stakeholders
