Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cyber Security Incident Responder (IR) to join our dynamic team. The role is vital in maintaining the security and resilience of Element’s digital infrastructure by managing cyber incidents effectively. This is a unique opportunity to be a founding member of Cyber Defence, working closely with stakeholders to develop a 24/7 operational cyber defence capability. Experience in Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) is encouraged.

Responsibilities:
  • Build Element’s IR capability, implementing industry best practices (NIST, SANS)
  • Govern and coordinate cyber incidents, act as lead incident manager, conduct investigations, determine root causes, and recommend remediation
  • Collaborate with IT, Privacy, Legal teams, and senior stakeholders; prepare incident reports
  • Conduct post-incident reviews for continuous improvement
  • Perform digital forensics, malware analysis, and assess incident impacts
  • Contribute to cyber defence metrics and KPIs
  • Stay updated on cyber threats and technologies
  • Develop relationships with external agencies and vendors for information sharing and response efforts
Key Skills:
  • At least five years’ experience in cybersecurity
  • 3-5 years in digital forensics and managing complex cyber incidents
  • Experience in large, federated organizations across public and private sectors
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or certifications like CISSP, CISM, GIAC
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, problem-solving, critical thinking in high-pressure situations
  • Effective communication, cultural sensitivity, and social flexibility
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, security as an enabler for business growth
  • Knowledge of SIEM tools and query development
Experience Needed:
  • Managing serious cyber incidents as a digital forensic responder
  • Working successfully in large, complex enterprise environments
  • Understanding security monitoring, intrusion detection, prevention systems, and related technologies
  • Technical expertise in networks, malware analysis, and digital forensics
  • Effective communication with senior stakeholders
