Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Digital Programme Manager to lead major digital and business change programmes across the organisation. You will define scope, plans, budgets and milestones while aligning with executive leadership to ensure expected benefits and delivery outcomes.

You will manage governance structures, coordinate internal and external teams, and oversee procurement and supplier relationships to realise secure, compliant, and resilient programmes. Hybrid in Reading, 36-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex Cyber Security programmes or major projects within a large enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of cyber risk management and translation of cyber risks into business impacts.
• Experience with Identity & Access Management, Infrastructure Security, Security Operations, Vulnerability Management and Data Protection.
• Familiarity with NIS Regulations, CAF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Experience managing cyber transformation initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to oversee programmes with regulatory, compliance and operational resilience requirements.
• Experience managing third-party security suppliers.
• Strong governance, audit and assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of significant Digital and business change programmes or portfolios of projects across Thames Water.
• Define and baseline programme scope, delivery plans, budgets, milestones, resources, dependencies, and business outcomes.
• Work with senior stakeholders, including Executive Director level, to establish programme objectives, benefits, priorities, and delivery expectations.
• Establish and manage effective programme governance structures covering cost, schedule, RAID, dependencies, risks, issues, and decision-making.
• Lead programme delivery teams and coordinate internal and external resources to ensure delivery of objectives.
• Identify and mitigate programme risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, escalating to senior leadership as needed.
• Manage programme budgets of up to £10m per annum with financial control and reporting.
• Coordinate technology solution assessments to align with business outcomes and architecture.
• Oversee and support procurement activities including RFI/RFQ processes, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and governance.
• Manage supplier relationships across the full delivery lifecycle with time, cost, quality, and performance expectations.
• Provide clear and timely programme reporting to senior leadership with progress, financials, risks, decisions and benefits.
• Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders for alignment throughout delivery.
• Base location – Hybrid Reading (STW) - RG2 0RP; Working pattern – 36 hours Mon-Fri.
