Job summary

You will collaborate with technical teams and senior stakeholders to implement and maintain security controls, ensuring GovAssure, CAF, ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials compliance.

Qualifications

• Active SC Security Clearance.
• Strong experience in Cyber Security Assurance, Information Security or Security Architecture.
• Experience conducting security risk assessments and maintaining risk registers.
• Knowledge of UK cyber security frameworks, including GovAssure, CAF and ISO 27001.
• Technical experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Windows/Linux environments.
• Understanding of SIEM, EDR/XDR and vulnerability management.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCP or SIRA.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support cyber security assurance assessments across IT, cloud and OT environments.
• Conduct risk assessments, maintain risk registers and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Review security architectures and advise on secure infrastructure and cloud solutions.
• Support vulnerability management and identify potential security weaknesses.

Cyber Security Assurance Specialist – SC Cleared

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire (3 days onsite)
Rate: Up to £450 per day
Duration: 6 months
IR35: Outside
Start: ASAP
Hours: 37.5 per week

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced SC-cleared Cyber Security Assurance Specialist to join a major organisation within the energy and research sector.

You will play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s cyber security posture across a complex digital environment, covering enterprise IT, cloud infrastructure, applications and Operational Technology (OT).

Working alongside technical teams and senior stakeholders, you will provide expertise across security assurance, risk management and security architecture, ensuring appropriate security controls are implemented and maintained.
