Job summary

Airbus Protect in Newport seeks a Cyber Defence Engineer to join 2nd/3rd line, on-site to bolster SOC operations and system maintenance. You will patch and manage releases, monitor logs, and produce health and performance reports while coordinating with the Newport MRO for daily checks.

The role requires a strong networking background; Splunk knowledge is advantageous, and prior SOC maintenance experience is valued. Flexible working is limited to occasional remote tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience as Cyber Engineer with strong networking background.
• Splunk knowledge/experience is highly advantageous.
• Experience performing scheduled maintenance and patching to deadlines.
• Previous SOC systems maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Support SOC Engineers & Analyst activity.
• Support change & release management.
• Ensure patching/deliveries within KPI/SLA.
• Produce reports on SLA, performance, obsolescence and availability.
• System maintenance for remote platforms.
• Assist with daily checks and health status with Newport MRO.
• Monitor audit logs for breaches and malware across zones.
• Deploy patches, fixes and policy updates.
