Job summary

Mace is leading the Sizewell C (SZC) civil Works Programme in the UK, delivering a 3.2-gigawatt power station. This role focuses on embedding HPC civil construction learnings, directing strategy, and coordinating with CWA and client organisations to ensure best-for-project decisions across interfaces.

You will drive risk management, EVM application, and continuous improvement while fostering strong relationships within a multinational delivery team.

Qualifications

• Experience managing/influencing contractors, consultants and other advisers on large and complex construction projects.
• Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
• Experience in Client organisations.
• Strong technical background in reinforcement detailing or other core civil disciplines.
• Experience of working with Alliances and Joint Ventures.
• Experience of civil construction on HPC.
• Experience of working in a regulated environment/industry.
• Demonstrable knowledge of MEH interface appreciation.
• Experience of working in programme of works with multi nationalities and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Leadership input to and implementation of strategy to embed HPC civil construction learning into SZC.
• Work with key stakeholders within the CWA and client organisations to align priorities and communicate to delivery teams.
• Ensure that 'best for project' decisions are made across interfaces.
• Escalation/resolution of matters outside the Delivery Team’s delegation of authority.
• Anticipate, manage and resolve transverse issues.
• Identify risks and facilitate resolution of issues raised and escape as necessary.
• Apply earned value management (EVM) principles.
• Apply the principles of continuous improvement.
• Ensure lessons‑learnt and knowledge‑capture are practiced as business as usual.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all project team members.

Civil Works Programme is a 10‑year infrastructure delivery programme encompassing enabling works, tunnelling, marine works and main civil construction for the nuclear plant. Success relies on strong collaboration, programme leadership, integrated delivery, supply chain optimisation, and leveraging proven HPC experience to drive performance, productivity and operational excellence.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Leadership input to and Implementation of strategy to embed HPC civil construction learning into SZC.

You’ll Need To Have
