The Customs Consultant will oversee the operation of Customs team systems and audit dashboards, working closely with the Customs Team Manager and Tax colleagues. Responsibilities include advising on import compliance, Broker KPI reporting, and ensuring adherence to HMRC and Border Force regulations. The role involves managing import/export processes, shipment tracking, and system issues, maintaining compliance, and providing excellent service internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting customs compliance and ensuring full adherence to regulations.
• Utilizing SAP GTS and data analytics tools such as MicroStrategy to manage customs transactions and develop dashboards.
• Maintaining and developing data interfaces with external stakeholders.
• Providing subject matter expertise on import operations and compliance.
• Assessing costs and risks related to international trade, including tariffs and duties.
• Resolving queries related to customs documentation and system errors.
• Conducting quarterly audits and preparing reports to improve compliance and efficiency.
• Ensuring accurate and timely declarations in Customs CDS system.
• Managing import/export projects and ad hoc events.
• Assisting in compiling quarterly compliance audits.

Requirements:

• Degree in International Trade Compliance, MCIEX Grad, or equivalent customs qualifications.
• Experience advising and auditing with HMRC or large consultancies preferred.
• Deep knowledge of international customs regulations, trade agreements, and duty optimization strategies.
• Experience with customs bonded warehousing, excise, and retail import/export operations, especially FMCG.
• Technical expertise in SAP GTS and data analytics tools such as MicroStrategy.
• Experience with SPS controls and BTOM controls is advantageous.
