Job summary

Zachary Daniels is partnering with an established consumer brand based in North Yorkshire to recruit a Customs Manager for a brand new function. The role oversees end-to-end customs activity across the international supply chain, ensuring compliance, accurate classifications, and efficient movement of goods across markets.

The position is hybrid, with 3 days in the office, offering ownership of the customs function and opportunities to influence processes with senior stakeholders across Supply

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in a Customs, Import/Export or International Trade management role.
• Strong knowledge of UK import and export regulations.
• Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
• Good understanding of commodity classification, rules of origin, duty and customs valuation.
• Experience in fashion/homeware, retail, consumer goods or similar international product-led environment.
• Strong Excel and reporting capability.

Responsibilities

• Managing the end-to-end customs operation across the Group.

Customs Manager | Retail | Yorkshire | £50k + benefits package

I am partnering with an established consumer brand based in North Yorkshire, who are looking for a Customs Manager to work in a brand new function for the business.

This is a key role responsible for managing and developing the Group's customs activity across their international supply chain. You will take ownership of customs compliance, import and export processes, holding relationships with key logistics partners, ensuring products move efficiently and compliantly across international markets.

About You

We're looking for an experienced customs professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a commercial and practical approach.

You'll ideally have:

• MUST HAVE Proven experience in a Customs, Import/Export or International Trade management role.

• Strong knowledge of UK import and export regulations.

• Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders.

• A good understanding of commodity classification, rules of origin, duty and customs valuation.

• Experience within fashion/homeware, retail, consumer goods or another international product-led environment.

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to compliance.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• The confidence to work autonomously and influence stakeholders across the business.

• Strong Excel and reporting capability.

• Experience managing or improving customs processes across multiple international markets.
