Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd's SPAR Hemyock store is hiring a Customer Team Member (18+) to join the weekend shift. The role involves greeting customers, assisting with products, and processing tills, with 10 hours per week on alternating Saturdays and Sundays.

You will support store management, help with stock, promotions, and cleanliness, and contribute to a positive customer experience in line with SPAR's Brilliant Basics and Moments of Wow.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or similar customer-facing role.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Knowledge of age-restricted sales (e.g., Challenge 25) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Assist customers with product inquiries and locating items.
• Process purchases at the till accurately.
• Upsell and highlight multi-buy offers to maximise sales.
• Stock shelves, check deliveries, and maintain clean sales floor.
• Date check, stock checks, price changes and promotional displays as required.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Customer Team Member (18+) SPAR Hemyock.

Alternating Saturdays 5pm-9pm

Alternating Sunday 12pm-9pm

10 hours p/w.

Must be at least 18 years old

We have an exciting opportunity for a SPAR Customer Team Member. As a Customer Team Member at SPAR Hemyock, you will play a vital role in supporting our store management team and creating a positive customer experience. You will assist in maximising sales and profit by carrying out allocated tasks in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of the store, ensuring great customer service, through "Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for later and Food for now!"

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Answering customer inquiries about products and services and assisting customers in finding the items they need.
• Processing customer purchases efficiently and accurately through the tills, maintaining a positive and friendly service
• Upselling selected products to customers and highlighting multi-buy offers, to ensure maximum sales at our HemyockSPAR store
  Store Operations:
• Working stock; checking deliveries, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and organised sales floor, rotating stock to ensure freshness and timely expiration dates.
• Completing additional assigned tasks, such as date checking, stock and gap checking, price changes, promotional displays and other tasks as required from time to time.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures and processes.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

• Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferred
• Reliably follows instructions and procedures with excellent attention to detail
• Some understanding of legislative responsibilities of a retail environment and the skills to assist with adherence
• Ability to contribute ideas for delivering exceptional customer service and driving the business forward
• Experience of using a 'Challenge 25' policy desirable
• Keen and enthusiastic approach to working both in a team and independently
• Previous cash handling experience is preferred but not essential
