Job summary

Co-op Group in Ashburton is seeking a Customer Team Leader to run a busy store, lead a small team on shift, and ensure excellent service. The role may include duties in the post office or bakery and supporting online services and home delivery drivers. You’ll build relationships with the community and champion Co-op membership.

You will coach colleagues, drive stock accuracy, merchandising, and community engagement while delivering great customer experiences every day.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ to authorise age-related sales.
• Experience in retail or team leadership is welcome but not essential.
• Ability to work flexibly and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day running of the store by leading the team on your shift.
• Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver great service and efficient operations.
• Work hands‑on on the shop floor and tills, supporting daily operations and setting the pace for a team of Customer Team Members.
• Support store performance through merchandising, stock accuracy, and HR processes.
• Champion Co-op through community engagement and membership growth.
