Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Customer Service & Sales Specialist to enhance our customer service team and support our sales efforts. This role will ensure that customers receive expert guidance, warm and efficient service, and tailored solutions for their van racking needs. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical understanding, problem-solving skills, and sales ability, along with experience in working with CRM systems and multi-channel communication.

Compensation - up to £62,000 available

£30,000-42,000 - base salary depending on skills & experience

£0-£20,000 additional performance-based bonus

Duties

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customer enquiries across multiple channels (phone, email, social media, in-person).
  • Provide expert guidance on van racking solutions, understanding customer needs and offering tailored recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the design team to relay customer requirements and ensure their vision is accurately translated into designs.
  • Improve response times and depth of engagement with customers, ensuring high-quality service.
  • Proactively identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the company’s product range.
  • Assist in business development efforts by reaching out to fleet managers, trade companies, and other B2B prospects.
  • Use CRM systems to manage customer relationships, track sales leads, and follow up efficiently.
  • Provide cover for the customer service department when other team members are on holiday or away.
  • Work closely with the marketing, design, and workshop teams to enhance overall customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in troubleshooting customer issues and handling complaints effectively.

Skills & Experience:

  • Customer Service & Sales Expertise: Proven experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in technical or trade-related sales.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and clearly explain product options.
  • Problem-Solving & Visualisation: Ability to understand and interpret customer needs, visualising layouts and solutions that meet their requirements.
  • CRM & Database Management: Familiarity with CRM software for managing leads, tracking customer interactions, and optimising sales processes.
  • Multi-Channel Communication: Comfortable engaging with customers via phone, email, social media, and in-person.
  • Trade Industry Experience: Background in trade-related sales/customer service (e.g., kitchen fitting, carpentry, van conversions, or construction supplies).
  • Independent Thinker: Capable of troubleshooting customer concerns and offering solutions without constant supervision.
  • Sales & Upselling Ability: Experience in direct sales, including identifying opportunities, making recommendations, and converting enquiries into sales.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of vans, commercial vehicle models, and trade industries would be a significant advantage.
  • Experience working in bespoke solutions where understanding customer requirements is key (e.g., fitted furniture, modular storage, custom vehicle conversions).
  • Previous work in technical sales where explaining product compatibility and features is required.
  • Familiarity with fleet management, B2B sales, or trade services.
  • Background in automotive or commercial vehicle industries (e.g., working with dealerships, fleet operators, or vehicle accessories sales).
