Job Title: Customer Service Officer / Security Guard

Rate of Pay: £13.72 per hour

Contract: Permanent

Type of Employment: Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Buchanan Galleries, Buchanan Street, Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland, G1 2FF

As a Customer Service Officer, you will play an integral role in ensuring high standards of security, safety, and customer service are delivered at all times to visitors, colleagues, retailers, and contractors.

You will assist in emergencies, provide security cover, handle inquiries and customer concerns, monitor CCTV (where trained and licensed), and manage contractors and deliveries.

Main Duties - Security

• Work scheduled hours and shifts as per employment conditions
• Regular patrols of the site as instructed by Management
• Follow assignment instructions from Management
• Comply with the Health and Safety Policy
• Ensure Fire Regulations are followed
• Adhere to site Rules and Regulations
• Report and log incidents
• Manage contractor adherence to site procedures
• Maintain a safe environment for visitors
• Assist with public and retailer inquiries
• Attend all required training
• Report hostile reconnaissance or suspicious activity
• Follow all company rules, terms, and conditions

Main Duties – Customer Service

• Prioritize customer welfare and experience
• Provide friendly greetings during 'door' duties
• Respect and courteously treat retailers
• Undertake customer service training as needed
• Act as a Brand Ambassador

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Hold a valid SIA Security Licence, Public Space Surveillance Licence if necessary
• Be reliable, helpful, well-presented, with excellent people skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Strong customer service skills, polite communication via phone, email, in person
• Discreet handling of confidential information
• Calm, confident, and enthusiastic personality
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good understanding of local amenities for tourism, retail, accommodation, and transport inquiries
