Job summary

Sheffield Hallam University is seeking a Hallam Help Administrator to handle student enquiries across wellbeing, libraries, funding and international services.

The role involves responding to inquiries by email, phone, face-to-face Help Points and live webchat, mostly on campus at City Campus and Collegiate Libraries. It offers on-site working with hybrid options and a generous LGPS pension scheme.

Hallam Help are the first point of contact for the University’s support services such as wellbeing, library, student funding, disability, academic and international services and our vision is to is to be a sector leading service that is trusted by our students and recognised as providing high quality, accessible and customer-focused service, advice, Information and support.

As a Hallam Help Administrator, you will be handling student enquiries via email, telephone, face to face Help Points and live webchat. It is an exciting time to join the Hallam Help team as it moves into its new face to face location, MyHallam at City Campus. This location is an integrated, student-friendly space offering a clear, visible ‘front-door’ for support. Alongside MyHallam, the team will continue to offer support at help points in Adsetts and Collegiate Libraries. You will be expected to listen and work with our students to improve and add value to their experience whilst empowering them to become confident, creative and resilient learners who can engage with the services they need.

The role is varied throughout the student year and student lifecycle. There may be opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and project work.

Most of your working week will be spent working on campus between our City and Collegiate campuses. We endeavour to offer the opportunity for hybrid working but this is predominantly an on-campus role, staff are expected to be on service between 8:30am-5:00pm.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
