Job summary

MERKUR Slots is seeking a Part Time Keyholder in Newcastle to welcome guests and help deliver a great gaming experience. You’ll handle cash, assist with day-to-day venue operations, and support a team in a fast-paced retail/gaming environment.

The role requires strong customer service, cash handling, and the ability to act as a stand-in leader when managers are away. Weekend and Bank Holiday shifts are included, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role in retail, hospitality or gambling sector.
• Keen to learn and progress.
• Eager to support the training of others.
• Be a role model for the team.
• Experienced in cash handling.
• Industry and compliance training will be given.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for opening, trading and closure of the venue in the absence of the Venue/Assistant Manager.
• Maintain high venue housekeeping standards, clean gaming equipment and surfaces.
• Issue change to customers and manage float according to procedures.
• Assist with bingo, catering or other duties as required by the Venue/Duty Manager.
• Payout for machine faults when authorised by the Venue/Duty Manager.
• Monitor customer behaviour and report any suspicious/disruptive activity.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and report hazards.
• Assist with administration to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Support promotions and ensure excellent customer service.
• Address customer complaints quickly with management.
• Maintain a high standard of personal presentation per dress code.
