Job description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Undertake standard service activities including load bank and building load test proving, major and minor diesel servicing.
• Carry out contract maintenance and inspections on a planned basis to Vertiv standards.
• Install temporary generating plants.
• Identify opportunities for additional works (SQD) and provide recommendations.
• Perform remedial work for contract customers, including planned repairs or call-out services. Be available on the call-out rota for 24-hour response.
• Complete and submit relevant reports to service administration promptly after site activities.
• Conduct project surveys and lead projects.
• Install and commission generator and AMF control systems.
• Provide technical support to Sales Managers both on customer sites and in the back office.
• Perform fault finding and rectification in electrical and mechanical disciplines to support field engineering teams.
• Service LV switchgear.
• Provide technical telephone support to field engineering teams when needed.
• Comply with all Company Health and Safety requirements.
• Ensure all activities comply with International Trade Compliance Regulations and the Company ITC certification program.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience in the generator standby power industry or related fields.
• National Level 3 qualification in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding and rectification.
• Competency in either intermediate electrical or mechanical works.
• Good understanding of PLC and microprocessor systems.
• Basic IT knowledge.
• Experience servicing LV switchgear is advantageous.
• Experience in field operations roles.
• Proven fault finding and rectification skills.
