Job Responsibilities
- Undertake standard service activities including load bank & building load test proving, and major & minor diesel servicing.
- Carry out contract maintenance and inspections on a planned basis to Vertiv standards.
- Install temporary generating plant.
- Identify opportunities for additional works (SQD) & provide recommendations.
- Perform remedial work for contract customers, including planned repairs or call-out services. Be included in the 24h call-out rota.
- Complete and submit relevant reports to service administration promptly after all site activities.
- Conduct project surveys and lead projects.
- Install and commission generator and AMF control systems.
- Provide technical support to Sales Managers on customer sites and in the back office.
- Diagnose faults and rectify issues in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines to support field engineering teams when needed.
- Service LV switchgear.
- Provide technical telephone support to field engineering teams as required.
- Comply with all Company Health and Safety Requirements.
- Ensure activities comply with International Trade Compliance Regulations and the Company ITC certification program.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in the generator standby power industry or related fields.
- National Level 3 qualification in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
- Experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding & rectification.
- Competency in either intermediate electrical or mechanical works.
- Good understanding of PLC and microprocessor systems.
- Good understanding of IT.
- Experience servicing LV switchgear (advantageous).
- Experience in a field operations role.
- Experience in fault finding & rectification.
