About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll deliver the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers’ doors. You will embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers.

When not on deliveries, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming operation of the shop. Please note, you must be 18 years or older to apply for this role.

Key Responsibilities

You will typically start your day in store and be responsible for:

1. Checking your delivery routes for the day.
2. Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery.
3. Completing vehicle safety checks, maintaining road safety and compliance with health and safety standards.
4. Representing the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as your priority.
5. Assisting customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
6. Supporting the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.

Essential skills and experience

• Full valid UK manual driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Physical ability to handle role requirements, including lifting crates and moving cages.
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated and adaptable.
• IT literacy.

Desirable skills and experience

• Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
