About the role

As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the opportunity to deliver our distinctive John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TVs as part of a two-person delivery team. Salary: Driver Trainee: £26,700/year; Installer Trainee: £29,000/year

Driver Trainee Responsibilities

• Complete a 12-month trainee program to become a qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer.
• Provide excellent customer service, representing the John Lewis brand.
• Assist in loading deliveries and collaborate with warehouse staff.
• Respect customers' homes and resolve unforeseen issues effectively.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Note: The role involves heavy lifting, delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, and mattresses.

Essential Skills/Experience for CDH Driver Trainee

• UK B-Category manual driving license with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Interest in technology and installation.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Previous experience in installation and customer delivery driving.

Driver Installer Trainee Responsibilities

Complete a 3-month trainee program to become a qualified installer.

• Prioritize excellent customer service.
• Load deliveries with the warehouse team.
• Respect customers' homes and handle issues professionally.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
• Keep up-to-date with new products and technologies.
• Maintain safety standards.

Note: Heavy lifting involved, delivering large items such as sofas and beds.

Essential Skills/Experience for CDH Driver Installer

• Manual C1 UK driving license with up to 6 points.
• DCPC and Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving 7.5-tonne vehicles.
• Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good understanding of technology.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience in home delivery and installation of electrical and furniture products.

Full-time hours (41 hours/week), working 06:00-17:00, Monday to Saturday, on a 4-day rota.
