Job summary

B&Q Limited in Holywood Exchange is hiring a Customer Advisor on a part-time basis (18.75 hours per week) for a 3-month fixed term contract. Shifts are available Monday to Sunday, 7.00am to 8.00pm, with a notional hourly rate of £13.10.

You'll become an expert advisor, helping customers with home improvement projects, stocking, displays and ensuring the store looks great. Training in paint-mixing and timber-cutting may be provided, with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service.
• Able to work on a rota including weekends and bank holidays.
• Willing to learn and adapt to new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with product questions and purchases.
• Manage stock, set up displays and keep the store tidy.
• Provide excellent service and participate in training.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint‑mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
