Job summary

B&Q Jersey is hiring a Customer Advisor on a 3 Month Fixed Term Contract. This full-time role (36.45 hours/week) includes weekend, evening, and bank holiday shifts, at an hourly rate of £15.24 (including a location allowance).

Training in paint-mixing and timber cutting is possible, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. You will help customers with home improvement needs, manage stock and displays, and ensure the store looks its best.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, eager to learn and to help others.
• Able to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
• Comfortable with using new technology and learning new processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and guide them through home improvement purchases.
• Manage stock, set up displays and keep the store looking presentable.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
