Job summary

B&Q Limited in York Hull Road is hiring a part-time Customer Advisor at the checkouts. You will be the friendly face, helping customers with purchases and using tills, click & collect, and setting up displays. Training will be provided, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.

Shifts run Monday to Sunday, 7.00am–10.00pm, and you’ll join a team that values inclusivity and helpfulness. The role is a 3‑month fixed term contract with a competitive hourly wage.

• Become an expert advisor and guide for customers
• Support sales, click & collect, displays, and store presentation
• Provide great customer service at tills and on the shop floor
• Work a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays

UK Notional hourly rate £13.10 per hour (Inclusive of an £0.27 per hour, store specific location allowance)

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like click & collect, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in various areas, but on the tills truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
