Job summary

B&Q Buxton is seeking a Customer Advisor for a part-time, 20 or 25 hours per week role on a 3-month fixed-term contract. The position covers shifts Monday to Sunday, 7.00am–10.00pm, with a £13.10 hourly rate.

You will assist customers, manage stock, and help create attractive displays while delivering high-quality service. You’ll be trained in paint-mixing and timber cutting, but excellent customer service is the main goal.

Qualifications

• Friendly, helpful and eager to learn with a can-do attitude.
• Willing to adapt to new technology and ways of working.
• Able to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and advise on home improvement needs.
• Help manage stock, set up displays and maintain store appearance.
• Potential training in paint-mixing and timber cutting.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
