Job summary

B&Q Tweedbank in Scotland is hiring a Customer Advisor for a part-time role (12-30 hours per week). Shifts run Monday to Sunday, 7.00am–10.00pm, with a permanent contract and a £13.10 per hour rate. You’ll greet customers, advise on home improvement projects, assist with stock, set up displays and support paint-mixing and timber cutting training.

Strong teamwork and a friendly approach are essential. This role offers a welcoming store environment, ongoing training, and a route to develop retail

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or sales is required.
• Friendly, helpful and able to work in a team.
• Willing to work on a rota including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and guide their home improvement projects.
• Drive sales and maintain stock levels.
• Set up product displays and ensure the store looks attractive.
• Learn paint-mixing and timber-cutting on the job.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What We Need

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
