Job summary

B&Q East Kilbride is hiring a Customer Advisor on a part-time basis (30 hours per week) for a permanent contract. Shifts are available across Monday to Sunday, 7.00am to 10.00pm.

You’ll become an expert advisor to help customers with home improvement projects, support sales, manage stock and displays, and keep the store looking great. Training in paint-mixing and timber cutting is provided to strengthen customer service.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, eager to learn and comfortable with new technology.
• Great at working in a team and able to handle a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert customer advice and support to shoppers.
• Drive sales while assisting with stock management and shelf displays.
• Set up displays and ensure the store looks inviting and well stocked.
• Be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber to support customer projects.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint‑mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
