Job summary

B&Q Carlisle is seeking a Customer Advisor for a permanent part-time position (12 hours/week) with weekend shifts from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. The notional hourly rate is £13.10.

You will help customers with their home improvement needs, assist with stock, displays, and ensuring the store looks attractive. Training in paint-mixing and timber cutting is available; a friendly, team-oriented approach and flexibility are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing
• Eager to learn and adaptable with home improvement
• Able to work on a rota including weekends/evenings/bank holidays
• Comfortable with using new technology and working in a store environment

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and advise on home improvement projects
• Drive sales while ensuring stock is well managed
• Set up product displays and maintain store appearance

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What We Need

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
