Care and Custody - A Mitie Company is seeking qualified nurses or paramedics to transition into a forensic healthcare role within Police Custody Suites and across the designated region. Comprehensive training will be provided and progression opportunities are highlighted.

The role supports detainees with 24/7 service coverage in a collaborative, high‑support team environment, with a strong emphasis on professional UK registrations and mandatory vetting.

Qualifications

• RN, RGN or RMN with dual registration (Band 5 minimum)
• Paramedic 2 years post-qualification
• 2 years post-qualification patient-facing experience
• Driving Licence (required)
• Right to work in UK with UK residence and no long gaps
• All candidates subject to Police Vetting

Responsibilities

• Salary £41,500 per year; PT £20,750
• £1000 bonus after 12 months service; £500 for PT
• Fixed shift patterns with 4 on/4 off for FT; 2 days on, 2 nights for PT
• Occasional night shifts for PT
• Overtime averaging £3500 per year

Job responsibilities

• Salary £41,500 per year - £20,750 for PT
• £1000 bonus when completed 12 months service. £500 for PT
• Full time - this entails fixed shift working in a team rota pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 days off: 06:45 to 19:00 for 2-day shifts followed by 2-night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
• Part time - this entails fixed shift working: 06:45 to 19:00 for day shifts and night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, working in a team rota pattern of 2-day shifts on, 8 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off. Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
• These patterns are contractually agreed with the customer: whereas there may be opportunities for a part-time or mutually agreed Bank contract, we require all employees to work full shifts, and part-time employees still need to carry out some Night shifts.
• Average estimated overtime £3500 per annum

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration): 2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum
• Paramedic 2 years post qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant field: General Practice, A and E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare or Ambulance Service
• Driving Licence (required)
• Must have RTW in UK, Lived in UK British Passport or ILR for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months
• All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting
