PHL Group in Leamington Spa is seeking Forensic Healthcare Professionals to join the custody team in Warwickshire. You will work alongside police officers to assess and treat detainees in police custody and conduct forensic medical examinations.

Hours are full-time, 42 hours per week (including nights). The role involves clinical assessments, interventions, and accurate record-keeping to safeguard detainees’ health, safety and welfare. Applications invite an informal visit to the custody suite.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Paramedic with minimum of 3 years’ service.
• Full membership of the NMC or HCPC.
• Must have a full UK driving license with access to your own vehicle for business use.
• Competent in oral and written English.
• Have been continuously resident in the UK for at least 3 years.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Ability to be cleared through the Police Vetting system: Level 2 NPPV clearance.
• A DBS check is required for this post.

Responsabilités

• Perform clinical assessments, identify health needs of detainees in police custody.
• Conduct forensic medical examinations to gather evidence for the criminal justice system.
• Advise and support custody officers in assessing healthcare needs and prioritising care.
• Assess detainees’ fitness for detention, interview, and understanding of charges.
• Evaluate alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal.
