Job summary

West Midlands Police is seeking a part-time Cleaner/Porter for the Corporate Asset Management Department at Stechford Custody in Birmingham. You will perform general cleaning across offices, washrooms and welfare areas, and may assist with porter duties, with training to the British Institute of Cleaning Science standards.

Flexibility to cover other sites within travelling distance is expected. Some weekend or bank holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar cleaning/porter role across multiple sites.
• Basic IT skills to use email and e-learning platforms.
• Ability to handle manual tasks and lifting safely.
• Willingness to learn and develop competencies for cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Damp dusting, cleaning and mopping of floors and surfaces.
• Clean kitchens and welfare areas and defrost/reorganise units.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report faults.
• Carry out porter duties and assist with general site maintenance.
• Undertake learning to perform duties safely and efficiently.
