Job summary

Mitie Group plc in the United Kingdom is seeking Custody Detention Officers to support Police in custody suites, care for detainees, and assist with observations and welfare while maintaining safety.

You will undergo a 3-week ITC training on full pay and participate in a rotating shift pattern (4 on/4 off; 06:45–19:00 days, 18:45–07:00 nights) with additional opportunities for progression in a dynamic, security-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Police/Security/forces experience would be beneficial.
• Reasonable level of spoken and written English.
• Competent in IT and using a computer.
• Full valid driving licence.
• All candidates are subject to police vetting checks - clean driving/criminal record is essential

Responsibilities

• Support detainees in custody suites with welfare and administrative tasks.
• Escort detainees and make observations according to individual plans.
• Work with Police and partners to support rehabilitation and safety.
• Train and work in a team with supervisory officers and colleagues.
