Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking people to work alongside the Police in custody suites, caring for detainees and supporting rehabilitation. The role covers shift patterns across days and nights, with a rolling rota up to two years in advance.

You will be trained on an Initial Training Course even without previous experience, must have a valid UK driving licence, good English, basic numeracy, and be eligible to work in the UK. All candidates undergo police vetting and a clean record is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous Police/Security/forces experience would be beneficial.
• Reasonable level of spoken and written English and basic numeracy.
• Full valid driving licence.
• Must have RTW in UK, Lived in UK with British Passport or ILR for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months.
• All candidates are subject to police vetting checks - clean driving/criminal record is essential.

Responsibilities

• Care for detainees in custody suites and support rehabilitation.
• Escort detainees and make recorded observations per individual plan.
• Work with Police and other agencies to ensure detainee welfare and safety.
• Utilise IT systems and computer programs as part of daily duties.
