Job summary

Leeds College of Building, the UK's only specialist FE construction college, is recruiting a Curriculum Manager to lead and develop Gas Apprenticeships, Green Skills, Welding and Rail programmes. You will drive high-quality apprenticeship delivery, support learner progress and build employer partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of good/outstanding teaching, assessing or training in construction and the built environment.
  • Full teaching qualification (minimum Level 5) or willingness to work towards.
  • Relevant vocational or professional qualification Level 3 or higher with industry experience.

Our faculty is at the forefront of construction education especially in Building Services. We provide a diverse range of further education courses and apprenticeships. These include Entry Level Qualifications, Diplomas, Apprenticeship Standards, and Adult Courses. We're seeking a passionate and innovative leader to help drive our continued growth and success.

Your Role: Make a Difference:
  • Drive effective curriculum managementand achieve high standards in student learning and outcomes.
  • Manage specific curriculum areas, student groups, and staff, ensuring excellence in education delivery.
  • Take an active rolein innovation, introducing and leading new developments to advance our curriculum and teaching practices.
About this Role:

While Curriculum Managers may be required to oversee various curriculum areas as organisational needs evolve, this role is currently responsible for the leadership and management of Gas Apprenticeships, Green Skills provision, Welding, Rail programmes, commercial short courses for gas and Electrical, and the new upskilling Apprenticeship Units. Key responsibilities include ensuring high-quality apprenticeship delivery, supporting learner progress and achievement, developing employer partnerships, and driving growth in upskilling and workforce development programmes. The role will also provide leadership for staff within these curriculum areas, ensuring learners are fully prepared for assessment, progression, and successful career outcomes.

What We're Looking For:
  • Aproven track recordof good/outstanding teaching, assessing or training in construction and the built environment.
  • Afull teaching qualification(minimum Level 5) or a willingness to work towards.
  • A relevant vocational or professional qualification atLevel 3 or higher, alongsideindustry experienceand knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills to inspire and supportboth adults and young peoplein achieving their learning and career goals.
  • Experience inmanaging staff and curriculumis desirable but not essential.
