Job summary

Prospere Learning Trust in Manchester invites a middle leadership post to provide professional leadership and management and develop excellence in pedagogy to accelerate progress for all students in Maths.

You will lead and develop the Maths curriculum across the Academy, monitor teaching quality, manage curriculum resources and collaborate with other departments. The role is permanent, full-time, with MPS-UPS plus a TLR 1.3 (£14,864), starting January 2027.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead curriculum development and teaching standards.
  • Experience in accelerating student progress within subject area.
  • Strong knowledge of current Maths curriculum developments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the Maths curriculum across the Academy.
  • Foster a shared vision within the curriculum team aligning with the whole school vision.
  • Monitor quality of teaching and learning and drive improvement strategies.
  • Manage department aims, review processes and curricular resources.
  • Collaborate with other curriculum areas to raise attainment and provide enrichment.

Job description

This is a middle management post. In addition to those professional responsibilities which are common to all classroom teachers in the school, the post holder's key responsibilities will be to provide professional leadership and management and develop excellence in pedagogy to ensure accelerated progress for all students in your subject area.,

  • To lead, manage and develop the Maths curriculum across the Academy and develop excellence in teaching to accelerate progress for all students.
  • To foster a shared vision in the curriculum team which reflects the whole school vision and to enthuse, inspire and motivate all team members.
  • To monitor the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations and other strategies and implementing strategies to improve teaching where necessary.
  • To ensure that the aims and objectives of the Department are the subject of regular review and consultation.
  • To manage the finance and resources ensuring effective curricular resource management & deployment to maximise student achievement and attainment.
  • To collaborate with other curriculum areas to raise attainment through developing overlapping themes and cross curricular learning opportunities.
  • To promote the provision of a range of enrichment activities and extracurricular activities across the curriculum area.

You will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner consistently delivering outstanding lessons. You will also need to demonstrate thorough English subject knowledge and an understanding of current curriculum developments.
