Job summary

The Earls High School in England is seeking an enthusiastic Curriculum Leader for History. You will lead, develop and inspire colleagues, and drive sustained improvement across the subject.

You will monitor teaching standards, translate vision into an engaging and ambitious curriculum, use data to identify priorities, and support colleagues through coaching and professional development, building strong relationships with students, parents and the wider school community.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Curriculum Leader for History. We are looking for a teacher who:

Has substantive and successful leadership experience, with a proven ability to lead, develop and inspire colleagues and drive sustained improvement within a subject.

Is an enthusiastic, committed and highly effective classroom practitioner with a passion for History and a strong commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for all students.

Has a clear vision for the teaching and learning of History and the ability to translate this into an engaging, challenging and ambitious curriculum in the subject area.

Can lead and manage a subject area effectively, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and student progress.

Is able to motivate, support and develop colleagues through effective collaboration, coaching and professional development.

Has a strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment and the use of data to identify priorities and improve student outcomes.

Is committed to developing students’ curiosity, independence and critical thinking, and to fostering a genuine enthusiasm for History.

Has excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and can build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the wider school community.

Is reflective, resilient and solution-focused, with the ability to lead change positively and work collaboratively as part of the wider school leadership team.
