Job summary

Gateshead Council is seeking a Curriculum Lead within our Provision for Young People team to deliver high-quality, inclusive learning and ensure learners progress and achieve their full potential. You will support staff development, maintain high teaching standards and design personalised programmes that reflect current best practice.

The role requires a degree-level qualification in a relevant curriculum area plus a Level 4 teaching qualification, at least three years of teaching or training,

Qualifications

• A degree-level qualification in a relevant curriculum area with a Level 4 or above teaching qualification.
• Experience of curriculum planning within Alternative Education.
• At least three years' teaching or training experience.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or coaching staff.
• Ability to work independently and develop productive partnerships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the Curriculum Manager with curriculum planning to meet strategic priorities and progression opportunities for learners.
• Supervise and support staff to ensure high-quality curriculum delivery.
• Assist in development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement via self-assessment and feedback from learners, parents and employers.
• Design, deliver and review innovative personalised learning programmes.
• Embed English, maths and digital skills across learning programmes.
• Create enrichment opportunities within and beyond the classroom.
• Provide outstanding pastoral support and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Build relationships with colleagues, external organisations and stakeholders.
• Support monitoring of curriculum performance and learner data.
