Job summary

Activate Learning is seeking a Curriculum Lead for Academic Studies based at Reading College. You will support the Curriculum Manager and collaborate with a second Curriculum Lead to raise teaching quality, student outcomes and employability across A Levels, T Levels, Business, Science and more.

You will inspire and lead Faculty teams to deliver an exciting curriculum, ensuring learners have an outstanding experience and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be an inspirational teacher with a teaching qualification and a track record of planning and delivering good/outstanding teaching and learning.
• Demonstrate leading-edge practice in delivering teaching and learning.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and influence staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop teachers and assessors to improve team performance and student outcomes.

We are recruiting an inspirational and ambitious Curriculum Lead to join our Academic Studies faculty based at Reading College. The successful candidate will support the Curriculum Manager, whilst working alongside a second Curriculum Lead, in raising the quality and effectiveness of teaching, learning and support across the Faculty. The Academic Studies faculty provision is made up of A Levels, T Levels, Business, Science, AAT, Part Time GCSEs, Full Time GCSEs and Access to Higher Education. The appointed Curriculum Lead will ensure that all students achieve their full potential academically, as well as in personal development, progression, outcomes and employability.

Reporting to the Curriculum Manager, the successful candidates will inspire, innovate and support Faculty teams to deliver an exciting curriculum, to ensure learners have an outstanding experience and develop the skills, knowledge and attributes needed for their career progression.

This role is about putting teaching, learning and assessment front and centre of everything we do. In this role you will be expected to:

• Ensure the implementation and delivery of the curriculum, in line with our Learning Philosophy and learner journey
• Developing teachers and assessors to improve team performance with a corresponding improvement in the student experience and outcomes
• Working with the Faculty Co‑coordinators to ensure high quality organisational planning and compliance with necessary administrative procedures
• Undertaking up to 11 hours teaching commitment

This is a permanent, full‑time role working 37 hours per week based at Reading College.
