Job summary

Dogsthorpe Academy in Peterborough is seeking an Assistant Principal (Curriculum) to drive curriculum excellence while continuing to teach and model outstanding practice. The role combines strategic leadership with direct classroom impact to raise pupil outcomes across the academy.

The successful candidate will lead curriculum development, analyse performance data to prioritise actions and support staff development within a supportive, inclusive environment within Greenwood Academies Trust.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of securing strong outcomes for children.
• Excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
• Experience leading curriculum development and improvement.
• Ability to analyse performance information to drive strategic action.
• Ability to motivate, inspire and develop colleagues.
• Commitment to inclusion and ensuring all children achieve success.

Responsibilities

• Lead and further develop the academy curriculum.
• Support quality assurance activities including monitoring, evaluation and school improvement planning.
• Work with leaders and teachers to improve teaching, learning and assessment.
• Use assessment and achievement information to evaluate impact and identify priorities.
• Line manage designated staff and contribute to their professional development.
• Help drive standards, achievement and personal development across the academy.
• Contribute strategically to the leadership and management of Dogsthorpe Academy.
• Maintain a teaching commitment and model exemplary classroom practice.
