Job summary

Ark John Keats Academy in Enfield is seeking an Assistant Principal with high expectations to drive excellent outcomes for all pupils, including those who are disadvantaged or have additional needs. You will join a team focused on inclusion, safeguarding and continual improvement.

You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team, maintain a teaching commitment, and play a key role in developing the curriculum and school-wide strategies to raise attainment and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level and above.
• Right to work in the U.K.
• Hold QTS (qualified teacher status)

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategic leadership of the academy, securing excellent outcomes, high attendance, strong behaviour and positive personal development for all pupils.
• Support the Principal and Primary Headteacher in establishing and sustaining a culture of high expectations, inclusion, safeguarding and continuous improvement
• Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic decision-making and school improvement
• Analyse attainment, progress, attendance, behaviour and safeguarding information to identify priorities and drive improvement
• Support the Principal and Primary Headteacher in promoting a culture that is nurturing, ambitious and inclusive
• Be an excellent classroom practitioner and maintain a significant teaching commitment, reviewed annually in line with school priorities
• Lead and contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum

Location: Enfield -easily accessible from central, north, and east London, as well as surrounding areas

Work pattern: Full time, Permanent

Start date: January 2027

As Assistant Principal, you will have high expectations and be focused on delivering excellent outcomes for all pupils.You will play a key role in ensuring that all pupils, particularly those who are disadvantaged or have additional needs, are fully included and supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Experience:

• Demonstrable experience of having significantly raised attainment in a challenging classroom environment
• Experience of having led, or significantly contributed to, the success of a school through its leadership, ethos, teaching and learning and results
• Experience and understanding how to improve and sustain an effective behaviour policy and/or teaching and learning in diverse school environments
