Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council's Adult Learning team seeks a Curriculum Coordinator to plan, develop and deliver high-quality programmes across our region, ensuring inclusive, engaging learning experiences and strong learner support.

You will lead curriculum development, collaborate with tutors and partners, monitor progress, drive quality assurance, and champion safeguarding, equality and inclusion while supporting staff development.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent teaching experience.
• Teaching qualification to at least Level 5 or willingness to obtain.
• Level 2 English/Maths qualification or equivalent.
• Level 2 ICT qualification or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, organisation and development of curriculum programmes within your specialist area to enhance quality and learner outcomes.
• Collaborate with curriculum colleagues to design high-quality learning pathways that support learner progression.
• Deliver teaching and training within your area of expertise.
• Support recruitment, induction and ongoing support of tutors and learners.
• Monitor learner progress, achievement and wellbeing, addressing barriers to learning and ensuring accurate performance reporting.
• Implement quality assurance processes, including self-assessment, monitoring and evaluation activities, to meet service, funding and Ofsted requirements.
• Support tutors in the effective use of ILPs and learner support plans.
• Promote inclusive learning practices and adapt delivery to meet the needs of vulnerable learners and those with additional needs.
• Work alongside the SENDCO to provide guidance and training on inclusive teaching approaches and SEND-related support.
• Line manage and support tutors and teachers, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
• Conduct formal observations and quality monitoring activities to support continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to develop services and learning opportunities.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, service development and growth through active participation in meetings and improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to provide an integrated learner experience.
• Deliver excellent customer service and respond effectively to feedback and complaints.
• Champion equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
• Travel across various locations within the county as required.

This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality course provision through effective resource allocation, curriculum planning, programme development, quality improvement, and learner support. Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, you will help drive excellence in teaching and learning while supporting learners to achieve their full potential., Join our Adult Learning team and play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality learning opportunities for our communities. As a Curriculum Coordinator, you will lead the planning, development and delivery of programmes within your specialist area, ensuring learners receive an inclusive, engaging and supportive learning experience. Working closely with tutors, managers and partners, you will drive continuous improvement, support learner success and help grow a curriculum that meets local needs.

• Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in in relevant subject area OR significant experience of teaching/delivery in a similar environment.
• Formal teaching qualification to minimum of Level 5, or willing to obtain in a specified timescale.
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in English, Maths or equivalent.
• Hold a Lv2 qualification in ICT or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards.
• Ability to project manage, working to tight deadlines.
• Develop and deliver adult learning programmes including accredited and non-accredited courses
• Management, supervision and support of staff with ability to develop and build teams.
• Development and adaptation of programmes for learners with specific needs.
• Experience in Curriculum Development
• Understanding the application of quality assurance to achieve a high-quality curriculum offer
• Knowledge and understanding of the role and national priorities of Adult Learning.
• Understanding the educational needs of diverse communities
• Substantial level of knowledge of own field of expertise
• Demonstrate effective planning, administration, time management & organisation skills
• Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills oral and written.
• Possess high level teaching / training and course development skills
• Ability to work unsupervised and high level of self-motivation, making appropriate decisions and motivating individuals.
• Demonstration of a commitment to safeguarding and PREVENT duty
