Job summary

Coleg Gwent is seeking a Curriculum Area Manager - Skills to lead the delivery of English, Mathematics and Skills at campus level and drive cross‑college improvements. Qualifications

• Qualifications: Lecturers must hold or be willing to achieve a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) within a set period.
• Extensive experience in the delivery of the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape the delivery of English, Mathematics and Skills at campus level across GCSE, Essential Skills, Advanced Learning and the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate.
• Drive improvements in teaching, learning, assessment, attendance, attainment and progression using learner data and quality assurance processes.
• Act as cross‑college lead for the specialist subject area to support consistency in curriculum delivery, QA, standardisation and moderation across campuses.
• Embed literacy, numeracy, digital skills and Welsh language development across teaching and learning, coordinating with curriculum, ALN and support teams.
