Job summary

Gloo is seeking a hands-on Chief Technology Officer to shape strategy and lead engineering, data science, and AI initiatives in the UK. The role blends architecture, product discourse and executive stakeholder engagement across customers and investors.

You will own multi-year tech direction, build a high-performing team, and drive speed, quality and ambition while making clear build, buy, simplify and stop decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering credibility and ability to go deep technically.
• Senior technology leadership in a complex data-intensive or enterprise SaaS environment.
• Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, distributed systems and operational excellence.
• Significant exposure to data science, AI or ML at scale.
• Experience governing architecture across data, ML, platform and customer-facing products.
• Track record of scaling engineering organisations and developing leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set a pragmatic multi-year technology strategy covering product, platform, AI and data science.
• Remain technically engaged to review critical designs and guide architectural decisions.
• Build the organisation: develop leaders, hire great talent, establish clear ownership.
• Improve velocity and quality through architecture, CI/CD, testing and observability.
• Advance AI and data capabilities from research to production with business value.
• Connect technology to commercial outcomes with cross-functional alignment.
• Act as an external technology leader to customers, partners and investors.
• Own budgets, headcount, security, risk and continuity planning.
