Job summary

Salford Royal Hospital-based CT Radiographer (Band 6) at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic professional for a permanent full-time position. You will work across multiple CT scanners and contribute to Cardiac, Colonography and CT Intervention alongside stroke and trauma imaging.

The role offers 37.5 hours per week with shift, weekend and night commitments, and a supportive team focused on high-quality patient care within a major trauma environment.

Qualifications

• Experience across CT exams including cardiac, colonography and CT intervention.
• Experience in workload management and leading a radiographic team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of QA testing and radiation protection practices.
• Willingness to expand the clinical role and participate in audits.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT imaging across a range of specialties including stroke and major trauma.
• Work across multiple CT scanners (GE and Canon) at Salford footprint.
• Contribute to CT interventional procedures and cardiac CT.
• Mentor junior staff and support staff appraisals and competencies.

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, patient focused, progressive CT Radiographer to become part of our team at Salford Royal on Permanent Full Time Basis. Are you a good team player? Can you demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills? Are you willing to work a mixture of shifts?

CT at Salford have 5 CT scanners, 4 GE and 1 Canon, you will work across multiple scanners within the Salford footprint and will be involved in all aspects of CT including Cardiac, Colonography and CT Intervention in addition to the Stroke and Trauma work.

The Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital (GMMTH) was opened in Spring 2024 and houses our hyperacute services including stroke and major trauma for the Greater Manchester area. Radiology services include a hybrid theatre, 2 GE Maxima CT scanners, an MR suite, X-ray room and an Ultrasound rooms.

Main duties of the job

As part of our team you will gain vast experience in imaging patients from a variety of specialties such as stroke, major trauma, neurosurgery, general surgery and Intestinal Failure. After initial training you will able to perform virtual colonoscopies and provide imaging for CT interventional procedures. You will also be trained in Cardiac CT.
