Job summary

VGroup is seeking an experienced 3rd Engineer for the cruise vessel DOUGLAS MAWSON. The role requires maintaining a safe engine room watch, operating main and auxiliary engines, and leading safe machinery operations aboard a passenger ship.

Requirements include STCW95, CoC A-III/1, and extensive cruise-ship experience, preferably with Wartsila engines. Provisions for safety, regulatory compliance, and coordination with technical teams are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Valid CoC A-III/1.
• Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
• Extensive experience on cruise ships in a similar role, preferably with Wartsila engines.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Moral integrity and safety-oriented mindset.
• Experience with Public Health, Coast Guard, and PSC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe engine room watch at sea, in port, and at anchor.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of Main and Auxiliary engines.
• Lead safe machinery operations and monitor engine systems.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs per Company policies and regulations.
• Coordinate with technical teams and other departments.
