Job summary
Amentum is seeking a mid-level Control Systems Engineer to design, develop and commission PLC software across multiple platforms. You will gain exposure to Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems while contributing to safety-critical projects.
The role progresses toward senior engineering responsibilities within a collaborative team. Expect end-to-end involvement from initial design through to live commissioning, with a clear path to seniority and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with PLC or SCADA programming in industrial environments
- Familiarity with IEC 61131 programming languages
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, or system integration
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within project teams
Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC software across platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider)
- Develop and configure HMI/SCADA systems
- Support full project delivery from design to commissioning
- Perform FAT, CAT, and SAT testing
- Produce high-quality design specs and test documentation
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and project teams
