Job summary

Simmons & Simmons seeks a regulatory Associate to lead cross-border projects within the CBU. You will manage projects, draft client advice, and supervise junior staff, while building strong client and external counsel relationships.

The role requires 3–7 years’ PQE in financial services regulation, excellent academics, and a collaborative, process-driven approach. A hybrid in-office requirement applies, with AI tools used to enhance outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years’ PQE gained in a leading City firm or in-house role focused on financial services regulation.
• Excellent academics.
• Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to influence and persuade at all levels with clarity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day client projects and deliver commercial, timely advice.
• Draft and review client advice, including AI-assisted work.
• Supervise junior CBU staff and broader team.
• Develop client relationships; attend meetings and calls.
• Foster internal and external counsel relationships.
• Research new regulatory areas and financial products.
• Assist with pitches; monitor scope and fees with senior leads.
• Ensure collaboration between CBU and navigator team.
• Suggest process/AI improvements and provide training.
• Log fee agreements for timely billing and cost control.
