Job summary

Agnew O'Brien in Jersey is seeking an Associate to join its litigation and dispute resolution team. You will handle a mixed caseload spanning commercial and contractual disputes, shareholder and joint venture claims, asset tracing and civil fraud, as well as contentious trust proceedings and insolvency matters with an international dimension.

Much of the work is cross-border, with matters often running in parallel with proceedings in England, the BVI, Cayman or the United States.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years' post-qualification experience in commercial litigation or dispute resolution.
• Qualification in Jersey, England and Wales, or another common law jurisdiction
• Experience drafting pleadings and running interlocutory applications
• Exposure to trust disputes, insolvency or civil fraud is an advantage
• Willingness to qualify as a Jersey advocate or solicitor in due course

Responsibilities

• Carry conduct of interlocutory applications and appear before the Royal Court.
• Manage a mixed caseload including commercial disputes, shareholder claims, and civil fraud
• Engage in cross-border work with England, the BVI, Cayman Islands or the United States
