Job summary

St John Ambulance is seeking a Critical Care Transport Assistant to join a co-located team of nurses, doctors and consultants to mobilise a critical care team for patient stabilisation and transport between hospitals and Critical Care Units.

You will contribute to hands-on patient care, support families, and help maintain safe transport and accurate documentation while adhering to training and induction requirements.

Qualifications

• Provide safe, stable transport to the clinical team, patient and relatives during journeys.
• Render emergency aid as part of the clinical team or in transit, with sensitivity to relatives.
• Accurately complete documentation for patients, vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mobilise a critical care team to stabilise and transport patients between hospitals and Critical Care Units.
• Work as part of the Critical Care Transport team and support NHS clinical staff with tasks to your training level.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are fit for purpose, clean, and report defects promptly.
