Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the Critical Care team at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. A live NMC pin is required to be considered for this permanent, full-time post.

You will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality critical care and supporting patients and families through challenging journeys. The role offers development in specialist critical care skills, with varied shifts (Mon–Sun Days & Nights) and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Relevant experience in an acute healthcare setting.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and lifelong learning.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for critically ill patients.
• Deliver safe and person‑centred care per local policies and guidelines.
• Communicate with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to support outcomes.
• Supervise, support and mentor junior staff and students.
• Maintain accurate patient records using electronic and paper systems.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage ward resources, equipment and supplies to support service delivery.
