Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting for a Band 5 registered nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency service at Glasgow Royal Infirmary on a permanent basis. A live NMC UK pin is required, with opportunities for a competency-based programme and supported professional development.

You will rotate through critical care areas, work with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to patient-centred care for complex ICU patients.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registered nurse with current pin.
• Commitment to patient-centred care.
• Experience in multidisciplinary team settings.
• Strong communication with patients, relatives and colleagues.
• Willingness to undertake a critical care preceptorship and ongoing development.
• Proficient in maintaining accurate clinical records and using electronic systems.
• Able to work in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective nursing care to critically ill patients within the Critical Care environment.
• Assess patient needs and plan, implement and evaluate individualised programmes of care.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with NMC standards and local policies.
• Provide support, reassurance and effective communication to patients, families and carers.
• Contribute to education, audit, research activities and the development of learners within the clinical area.
• Support the effective use and management of equipment, supplies and resources within the department.
